Sometime around 1993 we decided it would be a terrific idea to publish a small "art rag" newspaper so that we could discuss local art issues, and aesthetics. We mostly we wanted to give vent to our juvenile side and have some fun with, and make fun of, our friends, (and their reputations!) Traum O Rama was born!
Tom Towhey and Dana Tindall did most of the writing. We had a friend Gene Stow who did the layout. We lasted 5 issues. Each one got a bit bigger and more adventurous. Eventually it was taking up almost all our art making time and we had to stop. Sure was a hell of a lot of fun though.
Here are links to PDF files of each of the issues.
Please right click and "save to disk" or "save target as" when you download these files. You can enjoy them over and over again, or perhaps print them out to read and share. They are rather large files, and heavy traffic through my web server can get expensive, so.........you know the rest!
| Traum O Rama Issue 1 | In this issue we gave the celebrated Cincinnati photographer
Brad Smith a video interview he will never forget. He still has not
forgiven us! He put on a good show at our studio though. The
interview was kind of a promotion for him Maintraum style.
Most of the letters to the editor were made up. The original was
printed on blue paper.

| Traum O Rama Issue 2 | In this issue we started adding advertising from local
vendors and artists. We accepted writing from outside of
Maintraum, but most of it was done by Tom and Dana. All the letters to the editor
were made up. This original
was printed on garish yellow paper.

| Traum O Rama Issue 3 | This issue heralded the birth of a continuing advice and
Q&A column, "Ask Mayzee
Knozes". We also started to headline one of our members on
the front page. First up was Bob Morris. The original
was printed on white paper.

| Traum O Rama Issue 4 | It was Toms turn to be on the cover this time. (the
interview with John Steele didn't come out well in the PDF file. I
gotta fix that!) The original was printed on white paper.

| Traum O Rama Issue 5 | My turn on the cover this time. This was our last
issue. Bob and Tom put drawings in and we included a cartoon
someone had sent us. The original was printed on white paper.
