With a friendly, but cynical touch, my art explores the banal subjects and bromidic situations I find unique to American culture in the second half of the twentieth century. These ideas and symbols generate the image, and are as important as material deftness.

The works fall into the gray area between craft and fine art. Humor and a cartoon-like perspective, moving parts, sound, and narrative images are the focal points of my pieces, drawing on the familiar to make them readily accessible. This appeal aids viewer interaction, and lets the pieces be appreciated on several levels.

My most recent work frequently incorporates personal narrative using viewer activated audio tracks. The viewer interacts and activates the audio by pressing a button, or actually sitting on the piece. The audio tells a short personal story or delivers comments that provide additional insight about the artwork
